Future changes of hot extremes in Spain: towards warmer conditions

Abstract One of the most relevant effects climate change is its influence on frequency and intensity extreme events. The analysis understanding these events are great importance due to probability causing environmental social damage. In this study, we investigate changes in hot temperature over Spain for near future (2021–2050) relation a control period (1971–2000) by using regional model simulations from EURO-CORDEX project. projection results show significant increase number extremely warm temperatures throughout area. A strong days nights projected domain. Simulations also project more frequent summer tropical parts region. present climatology corresponds nights, while corresponding smallest changes.
